Earrings Organizer Tutorial

Those who know me know that I don't wear much jewellery  other than earrings. I've started a habit of buying at least a pair when I travel, and my family and friends would sometimes think of me when they see an interesting one and bring me a pair. (God bless them!) After a while, they became difficult to organize. On the day I couldn't find my pair of pink Swarovski DH had bought me many years ago, I decided that I need an organizer solution STAT. Where else could one go for solution ideas other than Pinterest.  The keyword "Earring organizer" gave a lot of results on Pinterest and it didn't take too long before I decided which one would suit me best. I knew I wanted something on the wall. Most of my earrings are open-hook and dangly. So the burlap covered frame would suit me best.  First, I measured my wall area and decided the dimension I wanted my organizer to be. Then, I searched for the wooden inner frame, the same kind they use to stret

Belitung 2017 - Part 5 Last Day

It was a wet morning in Belitung and we used our last day there to hang out at the hotel. The kids had wanted to swim but we vetoed it because of the rain.  We packed our stuff, checked out, and walked to Guangzhou Restaurant for lunch. Our hotel was very strict about check out time. Probably because competition was scarce.  As expected (from reading Foursquare), the food at Guangzhou wasn't as good as Dynasty's but it was still pretty good. The restaurant itself was comfortable and was decorated with antique goods. At the front section they had a coffee shop.  After lunch we hung out by the hotel pool. Finally it was time to go to the airport. So long, Belitung! It was great! Home sweet home! Special thanks to my friends for taking this trip together! Time to plan the next one... Hohoho....

Belitung 2017 - Part 4 Museum and Beach

On our third day in Belitung, DH and I wanted to try Warung Kopi Kong Djie. One of the most famous coffee shops in the area. So famous that they now have many branches on the island. For the experience, we decided to go the original location in the city. We are fortunate to have travel buddies who went along with our request :) The shop was a typical kopitiam...small, smoky, and not so clean. We got ourselves an outdoor table as far away from the smokers as possible. The coffee was better than the one at Millenium Coffee, but DH and I agreed that it was not as good as the ones we had in Manado . We went to see a traditional Belitung house but were not able to go inside. Apparently they are only open on Mondays and Tuesdays if the information we obtained were correct. The teakwood house was built on stilts like most houses in Sumatra and Borneo. No one uses this type of house anymore because teak wood is very expensive. Marble handles
