Green Tomato Bread

I have started buying organic vegetables from a supplier just outside Jakarta and have them delivered every Sunday. If anyone is interested, this is the contact info: The Pinewood Ivonne 081- 2837 0777 or BB Pin 2A43F8F1 Deri 0811 192 4126 or BB Pin 27F6A29F Dedi Wa 0878 7345 1217 Two Sundays ago, some of the tomatoes were still green and I had no idea what to do it them. I quickly googled green tomato recipes and came across this intriguing recipe for Green Tomato Bread . All of the review said that it sounded weird but tasted really good. Well, I was curious enough to try it. My first time I followed the original recipe but halved it because I only wanted to make 1 loaf instead of 2. So here it is... Since the first batch of bread was devoured within 48 hours, I decided to make another batch, with less sugar. This time I didn't have any more green tomatoes so I used red ones and slightly more. A Week in Bangkok - Part 4 - The End

Technically speaking, our week in Bangkok was not all spent in Bangkok. We spent 3 days (2 nights) in Cha Am Beach, a quiet beach about 2.5 hours from Bangkok. Renting a car through the hotel would have costed us 2.500 Baht so we decided to go by a taxi who quoted us 1,800 Baht. The taxi driver offered to make a stop at a floating market, which he said was on the way to Cha Am. So we agreed to it. It turned out that we had to go off our route for about 20 minutes to get to a place where we were supposed to rent a boat for a ridiculous price of 1,000 baht. What a rip off and a waste of time! We said no to the boat and told our driver we wanted to continue straight away to Cha Am. I am pretty sure that the taxi driver was hoping for a cut of that boat rental. Well too bad for him. I was unhappy! We finally arrived at Cha Am beach and we went straight to  Cher Resort  I already booked through  Agoda . The resort was small but nice and clean, with a pool and restaurant right by the be

A Week in Bangkok - Part 3

On day 3, we decided to go see the  พระบรมมหาราชวัง (The Grand Palace) . Miss Kiki was super excited about seeing a real palace where a real King lives. The Grand Palace is a very large complex with part of the areas open to public. To get there, we took the BTS to the station where they have the boat pier, and took the boat from there. Some of the 5-star hotels there have their own boat to take their customers between piers.  Boat that belongs to one of the 5-star hotels Wat Arun, the Temple decorated with porcelain pieces.  Outside wall of the Grand Palace Buildings inside the Grand Palace Complex It was another hot day, but we had long pants anyway because we knew that to enter the Grand Palace or temples you have to have skirt/pants below the knees and shirt with sleeves. Anyone with 'inappropriate' attire have to either rent or borrow clothes from the palace or the local vendors. There are many differe
